Hey everyone! Let's jump into yesterday's IPL's thrilling match. Delhi Capitals kept their winning streak alive with a thrilling 6-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru, thanks to a brilliant unbeaten knock of 93 runs from captain KL Rahul. His match-winning performance helped DC chase down 164 and secure their fourth consecutive win of the season.

RCB’s Batting: A Promising Start That Fizzled Out

RCB began strongly after being put in to bat. Openers Phil Salt and Virat Kohli came out aggressively, attacking the DC bowlers in the powerplay. Salt looked dangerous but was unfortunately run out after a promising start. Soon after, Devdutt Paddikal was dismissed cheaply, halting RCB’s momentum.

Delhi’s young pacer Vipraj Nigam then stepped up with a key breakthrough, removing the experienced Kohli for just 22 runs. After that, Rajat Patidar and Glenn Maxwell tried to rebuild but couldn’t convert their starts. Later in the innings, Tim David provided a late push with a quick cameo, while Dinesh Karthik and Cameron Green added a few crucial runs.

Despite the effort, RCB could only manage 163/7 in their 20 overs. The wickets were shared among Delhi’s bowlers, with Vipraj Nigam, Axar Patel, Khaleel Ahmed, and Mukesh Kumar all playing their part.

DC’s Chase: KL Rahul Steals the Show

Chasing 164, Delhi Capitals had a rough start. They lost three early wickets—Prithvi Shaw, David Warner, and Rishabh Pant—all within the powerplay, putting RCB in control.

But KL Rahul stood firm at one end. Batting with patience and class, he steadied the innings before shifting gears. He reached his half-century in 38 balls and then picked up the pace with some superb strokeplay. He got excellent support from Tristan Stubbs, who played a handy knock to keep the scoreboard ticking.

Despite a brief scare with rain in the air, Rahul stayed focused and kept the chase on track. He finished unbeaten on 93 off just 53 balls, hitting boundaries at will towards the end. Lalit Yadav came in to finish the game alongside him, as DC crossed the target with a few balls to spare.

Final Thoughts

It was a captain’s knock from KL Rahul—calm under pressure and explosive when needed. His innings made the difference, turning a tricky chase into a confident win. Delhi Capitals now sit comfortably with four wins from four matches, looking like serious contenders this season.

That's all for today. See you soon.
