Gujarat Titans (GT) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by seven wickets in a one-sided match, handing SRH their fourth straight loss in the IPL 2025 season. Fast bowler Mohammed Siraj played a big role with the ball, and captain Shubman Gill made sure the chase was smooth with a solid half-century.

Mohammed Siraj Destroys SRH Batting Lineup

After choosing to bowl first, Gujarat got off to a perfect start. Mohammed Siraj bowled brilliantly, taking two wickets in the powerplay — Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma. He later returned to clean up the lower-order batters and ended with excellent figures of 4 wickets for 17 runs. R Sai Kishore also bowled well, taking two important wickets – Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Reddy – while giving away only 24 runs in his four overs.

SRH struggled to score freely throughout the innings. Heinrich Klaasen scored 27 runs from 19 balls and Nitish Reddy made 31 off 34, but the team could only reach 152/8 in 20 overs. A few big shots in the last over from Pat Cummins and Mohammed Shami helped a bit, but Gujarat’s bowlers kept things under control.

Shubman Gill Leads a Calm Chase

Chasing 153, GT batted with patience and confidence. Even though SRH bowled well at the start, Washington Sundar played a few attacking shots to ease the pressure. He hit a clean six over fine leg and kept the scoreboard ticking.

Captain Shubman Gill played a steady and smart innings. He reached his fifty in 38 balls and remained not out on 61 off 43. Sherfane Rutherford joined the party with a powerful knock of 35 runs from just 16 balls. He smashed four boundaries in one over from Abhishek Sharma, making the win almost certain. GT finished the game with 12 balls to spare.

SRH in Deep Trouble

This loss puts Sunrisers Hyderabad in a tough spot with four back-to-back defeats. Their batting lineup hasn’t been consistent, and their bowlers haven’t been able to stop the opposition. On the other hand, Gujarat Titans are looking strong, with Shubman Gill leading well and their bowlers performing as a unit. They’ll be hoping to continue their winning run in the upcoming matches.
