Hey everyone!

Welcome back! Today, we’re talking about Match 26 of IPL 2025, where the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) took on the Gujarat Titans (GT) and what a game it was! LSG completely dominated and handed GT a solid defeat by six wickets, ending Gujarat’s four-match winning streak in style.

First Innings – GT Off to a Blazing Start

It all began with Rishabh Pant, the LSG skipper, winning the toss and choosing to bowl first. At first, that decision looked risky because Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill came out all guns blazing.

These two GT openers put up a brilliant 120-run opening partnership. Sudharsan looked confident and played some classy strokes, scoring 56 runs off 37 balls. Gill was just as good, smashing 60 off 38 balls. Their timing was perfect, and they made the most of the powerplay.

But things took a sharp turn after the 13th over. First, Gill was dismissed, and then Sudharsan followed shortly after. Once those two were back in the pavilion, the rest of GT’s batting completely fell apart. The middle and lower order couldn’t handle the pressure, and GT managed only 60 runs in the last 8 overs — a huge drop in momentum.

They ended their innings with a total that felt at least 30–40 runs short of what it could have been.

Second Innings – LSG Chase with Ease

LSG came out to chase, and there was a small surprise at the top. Rishabh Pant promoted himself up the batting order to open with Aiden Markram. It looked like he was trying to get back into form — and while he didn’t score big, he did manage 21 runs off 18 balls, hitting four boundaries. It’s not the knock LSG would’ve hoped for from their captain, but it was better than his earlier outings.

After Pant got out, Nicholas Pooran came in and completely took over the chase. Pooran played a stunning knock 61 runs off 34 deliveries, including seven massive sixes and a boundary. He was calm, composed, and totally in control.

At the other end, Aiden Markram did exactly what he’s been doing all season — steady, classy batting. He scored 58 runs off 31 balls, hitting nine boundaries and a six. The partnership between Markram and Pooran was smooth and match-winning.

Together, they made the chase look super easy, and LSG reached the target comfortably, with wickets and balls to spare.

Key Moments from Match 26:

1. GT’s opening stand of 120 runs between Gill and Sudharsan was top-notch — but sadly, no support followed.

2. Rishabh Pant’s form remains a concern. Though he showed some intent, he’s yet to make a major impact this season.

3. Markram and Pooran’s partnership was the turning point. They’ve been the most consistent performers for LSG this year.

Final Thoughts:

So, that’s the story of Match 26, a one-sided win for Lucknow and a bit of a reality check for Gujarat. LSG look confident and balanced, while GT will need to work on their middle-order stability.
