RCB Finally Break Chinnaswamy Curse with Thrilling Win Over Rajasthan Royals!

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) finally ended their losing streak at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium with a thrilling 11-run win over Rajasthan Royals (RR). It was a close and exciting game, but RCB held their nerve to walk away with the win. Meanwhile, RR’s season is in big trouble now with five losses in a row.

The day started well for RR as they won the toss and chose to bowl first. RCB’s openers, Phil Salt and Virat Kohli, began cautiously. While Salt struggled to score freely, Kohli looked in great touch. The pair added 61 runs during the powerplay.

Salt was dismissed soon after, but Devdutt Padikkal came in and played aggressively. Along with Kohli, he kept the scoreboard ticking, and RCB reached 156/2 by the 15th over. However, a mini-collapse followed, and they lost 3 wickets for just 7 runs. Sandeep Sharma was the pick of the bowlers, taking 2 quick wickets.

Just when it looked like RCB might fall short of a good total, Tim David and Jitesh Sharma stepped up. Their quick 42-run partnership helped RCB finish strong at 205/6. Kohli top-scored with 70 runs, and Padikkal chipped in with 50. The RR bowlers had a tough time, especially Tushar Deshpande, who gave away 36 runs in just 2 overs.

Chasing 206, Rajasthan got off to a fiery start thanks to young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal. Despite losing a couple of wickets early, RR reached 110 in just 9 overs. With 96 runs needed off the last 11 overs and in-form batters Nitish Rana and captain Riyan Parag at the crease, RR looked set for a comfortable win.

However, things changed quickly when Krunal Pandya came into the attack. Parag was dismissed going for a big shot on Krunal’s very first delivery. Wickets continued to fall, but RR still had a chance, needing just 18 runs off the last 2 overs with Dhruv Jurel and Shubham Dubey batting.

Josh Hazlewood bowled an outstanding 19th over, giving away just 1 run and taking two key wickets – Jurel and Jofra Archer. He ended with match-winning figures of 4/33. RR needed 17 runs in the final over, but their hopes ended when Dubey was caught out on the very first ball. RCB sealed the game by 11 runs.

And that’s a wrap on a thrilling night of cricket! RCB finally get their win at home, and RR’s season goes further off track. Catch you in the next one!
